The UT4M (Ultra Tour des 4 Massifs) is an iconic trail race that crosses the magnificent landscapes around Grenoble. The 40 km course, although one of the event's shortest formats, remains a real challenge. With several thousand meters of elevation gain, technical trails, and high-altitude sections, it puts the runners' endurance, mental strength, and adaptability to the test. Each kilometer is an alternation of steep climbs, challenging descents, and spectacular panoramas of the Chartreuse, Vercors, Belledonne, and Oisans mountain ranges. It’s an intense adventure, where the body is challenged from start to finish.
The importance of a suitable nutritional plan
To meet such a challenge, it’s not enough to train physically: nutrition plays a key role in performance and recovery. A well-constructed nutritional plan helps prevent fatigue, digestive problems and energy dips that can occur during this type of event. It's important to anticipate carbohydrate, electrolyte, and hydration needs throughout the race, while ensuring that what you consume is well tolerated by your body. A good nutritional strategy, tested during training, can make all the difference on the day, and transform a race you endure into a fully mastered experience.
