Mathieu Maynadier, sportsman and adventurer, a bit of a jack-of-all-trades!
One of the leading figures in French mountaineering.
Year of birth: 1984
Discipline: Mountaineering, climbing, paragliding. My main activity is mountaineering and even expeditions, but I like to vary my activities and practice different activities.
Favorite playground: The Himalayas, without a doubt. The playground is endless, and there you find an isolation that no longer exists in the Alps.
Your most beautiful climbs: The next ones!!! I have a hard time choosing one over the others... Climbing Gauri Shankar remains a particularly strong memory.
Best memory: A few years ago, we went on a ski-boat trip between Iceland and Greenland, and arriving in the Greenland Fjords early in the morning after a night of Northern Lights following five days of storms remains a wonderful memory.
Your ambitions or projects: Expedition to Pakistan in June 2021, attempting to open a technical alpine-style route on Pumari Chish (6,900m) (unclimbed summit), and this fall we'll go to Méru to attempt to climb the south face of the main summit, which is still unclimbed.
Your job: mountain guide, coach of the FFME national mountaineering teams.
Mathieu Maynadier is one of the emblematic figures of contemporary French mountaineering. Originally from the Hautes-Alpes region, he has distinguished himself through numerous ascents in the most demanding mountain ranges on the planet, from the Himalayas to Patagonia, via the Alps. A versatile mountaineer with a passion for long routes, technical expeditions, and high altitudes, he embodies a generation of mountaineers who are both modern and committed, seeking new routes, often in the Alpine style. Alongside his mountaineering, Mathieu is also a fan of ski touring, climbing and paragliding, disciplines that require great physical and mental endurance as well as meticulous preparation.
To meet the specific needs of sports as intense and prolonged as mountaineering, climbing or paragliding, Authentic Nutrition offers several perfectly adapted products. During long climbs or challenging outings, energy bars Flapjack (chocolate, raspberry or tarte tatin) offer a compact and easy-to-carry energy boost. Energy Gels Bost Gel are ideal at altitude where appetite decreases, but the effort remains intense. The energy drinks Booster+ (peach, lemon - lime, red fruits) help maintain optimal hydration, essential in the mountains. Finally, after the effort, the products in the Après l'Effort range such as the drink Authentic Récup or the high-protein bar Récup Barre which help with muscle recovery, very useful after long or successive days on the wall or in the high mountains. These products, designed for their effectiveness but also for their good digestive tolerance, perfectly meet the logistical and physiological constraints of these high-altitude disciplines.
