The UT4M Challenge 80 or 160 is an extraordinary adventure offered as part of the Ultra-Tour des 4 Massifs, an iconic mountain trail running event around Grenoble. This particular format involves covering several stages spread over two to four days, totaling either approximately 80 km or up to 160 km, with a significant elevation gain (up to more than 11,000 m for the 160). Every day, the riders tackle a new mountain range (Vercors, Taillefer, Belledonne, Chartreuse), with technical terrain, varying altitudes, and sometimes extreme conditions. The series of efforts over several days represents a colossal physical and mental challenge that cannot be improvised. To tackle this type of race in the best possible conditions, a precise and adapted nutritional plan is absolutely essential.

Indeed, the body is subject to cumulative fatigue: energy reserves diminish, recovery is shortened, and the risks of dehydration, cramps, digestive problems or a drop in performance increase. Having a well-thought-out nutritional strategy will allow you to effectively replenish your reserves between stages, optimize muscle recovery, limit inflammation, and above all maintain good digestive comfort. This requires good management of carbohydrates, proteins, electrolytes, vitamins and minerals, but also the right timing of consumption before, during and after each stage.
